Ingredients

Serves 7

1 Box Barilla® Protein+® Stars pasta
2 Cups heavy cream
1 ½ Cups white cheddar cheese, grated
1 Cup broccoli florets (optional)
Cup Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, grated
To Taste: Salt & White Pepper

Method

Chef Tip:

Heavy cream must be used in this recipe as it has more structure than regular milk.

Step 1

Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook pasta according to package directions.

Step 2

Meanwhile, in a saucepan over medium-low heat bring heavy cream to a boil. Whisk in 1 ½ cups of cheddar cheese and 1/3 cup of parmesan cheese with ½ teaspoon of salt and ¼ teaspoon of white pepper. Allow mixture to reduce and thicken. Test sauce and adjust seasoning to taste.

Step 3

Steam broccoli to desired tenderness.

Step 4

Drain pasta well and mix with cheese sauce & broccoli.
